Develop an understanding of

• how learning can be layered across a sequence to give all children the opportunity to develop depth of understanding
• how ‘desirable difficulty’ can be built into sequences of learning, rather than bolted onto them
• how the principles demonstrated on this course can be applied across the curriculum

Gain practical classroom strategies which

• are designed specifically for years 5 and 6
• are applicable to the design of tasks which support all children to develop their thinking and deepen their conceptual understanding
• make it easier for pupils to think harder, apply their thinking and achieve at a higher standard
