We have classrooms that must support the needs of increasingly neurodiverse learners, some of whom are especially sensitive to their environment. Understanding how children’s emotional regulation and behaviour is influenced by factors that impact on their sensory perception and processing is essential to meeting the needs of our more complex pupils. On this day you will learn to identify the underpinning roots to behaviour triggered by sensory experience, and strategies you can use at environmental and individual levels to help someone who is struggling, and expressing that struggle through their behaviour.
